HISTORY

In the past 13 years we have grown to become one of the leading law firms in Budapest. In the meantime, we have gained various professional, human, sport and artistic experience that left their mark on all of us. In the following collection we chose out of these memories.

After a professional discussion, it’s nice to clink glasses on the panorama terrace of our office.

New partners join the firm

We start the year with two new partners, Gábor Pázsitka and István Csővári. We are now reliable in financing matters, too.

2015

We celebrate our 10th anniversary

The Budapest Music Center, the Dohnányi Orchestra and a typewriter were enlisted to help us celebrate the occasion together with our clients.

– from a client

THE CIVIL CODE IN FOCUS

The new Civil Code brings us closer to clients: we assess the new rules at meetings and conferences organised by portfolio.hu and the Budapest Chamber of Commerce.

"I was not disappointed. In fact, the professional standard was even higher than at my previous employers (Big4, international law firm). I gained far more knowledge and experience at Jalsovszky. It was a fantastic experience to see how quickly and effectively the office manager built up and developed the team."
Csővári István

WE SHOW OUR GREEN REAL ESTATE CREDENTIALS

Our office is instrumental in the real estate transaction of the year.

A WELCOME ACCOLADE

The CEE Legal Matters magazine rates the website of our office as the best law firm website in Hungary.

2013

"If the office were an automobile, it would be a premium German car. Precision, diplomacy, business sense, style. The image it projects is very much in keeping with what it delivers."
– from a client

THE FUTURE IN THEIR HANDS?

The office participates for the first time at the Lawyers’ job fair at ELTE University.

"Right at the end of the first week, we went on an office team-building event where I had to chance to see for myself that, contrary to popular belief, not all lawyers are stuffy, boring people. Far from it! It was during this period that I went from being a university student to a professional consultant."
Gábor Kerekes

OUR BLOG IS LAUNCHED

We launch our new blog: "Taxative". We are pleased to see how many readers it has.

CONNECTED

We join two professional networks: ILN, which has a presence in 88 countries, and the Law&Numbers network of European tax practices.

WHITEWATER

It’s not only in consulting that we like to explore uncharted waters: the team goes rafting in Soca, Slovenia, during the summer.

2012

"Coming to Jalsovszky from a Big 4 firm brought no real change in many ways: there was still an international clientele, and top standards of both professional and personal conduct. However, working in a smaller office you had a chance to get to know your clients, develop personalised solutions and actually implement them."
Ákos Baráti

EVERYTHING WE WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT OURSELVES … AND WEREN’T AFRAID TO ASK

We surveyed more than a hundred clients about what we do well, and what we could do even better.

GOING THE DISTANCE

Our relay team entered the Budapest Marathon, completing the race within four hours.

SOUND IN MIND AND BODY

– from a client

LET ME TELL YOU IN A SONG

The office shows a new side of itself by recording a CD. Our song is a smash hit among clients.

2011

– from a client

ON THE RUNNING TRAIL

We start our runs at Normafa in the Buda Hills. The steep incline leading up to the Erzsébet lookout tower sets a tough challenge for the team.

MERCHANDISE GALORE

We get our own ballpoint pen. Then our own running top, umbrella, and a chocolate bar with the firm’s logo. There’s no stopping us…

"I ways really impressed by two things: one is the pace at which cases moved here. At my previous workplace, everything was far slower and more circuitous. The other one is the fact that here the bosses did not just hand out the work, they also worked themselves."
Perényi Katalin

WE WIN A PRECEDENT-SETTING TAX CASE

Thousands of Hungarian businesses are entitled to corporate tax rebates as a result of a lawsuit won by our office.

2010

TEN AND COUNTING

Our staff number reaches double-digits.

"The company thrives on change..."
– from a client

IT’S NOT ENOUGH TO BE CLEVER, YOU NEED TO LOOK SMART TOO

Our image gets a revamp: we get a new logo and a new website.

"Besides adhering to the highest standards of professionalism, the law firm offers so much: fraternity, friendship, sport, a shared learning process, cooperation, informal gatherings, etc. This makes the office attractive and professional at the same time, but the best thing about it is the community of coworkers. It’s good to work here."
Péter Barta

We’ve moved!

From Pest to Buda, from Magyar Street to MOM Park. The new office seems too spacious at first, but we soon settle in…

Highly respected for its unique focus on the tax area and the quality of its output, this local boutique is acknowledged as an excellent tax specialist by its peers.
Chambers

We are now rated among the top firms by the best-known international rating agency.

– from a client

2008

CLOSER TO TEN THAN TO ONE

Economic crisis or not, the headcount at the office keeps growing.

"I watched the office growing from a distance, behind the ramparts of an international office, and was always impressed by their dynamism and youthful momentum. And when I finally took the plunge and went to work there, I got to know just how much work and commitment goes into achieving that great dynamic."
Tamás Fehér

2007

"When we look for any other kind of consultant, Jalsovszky is the benchmark."

THE OFFICE CLOSES ITS FIRST DEAL
