Renowned competition lawyer joins the firm

Bálint Bassola (37) continues his career as the head of the competition law group of Jalsovszky Law Firm from March. Earlier, Bálint worked as a case handler at the Hungarian Competition Authority and practiced competition law at a global and at a regional international law firm. Chambers & Partners and Legal500 acknowledge Bálint as a leading individual in competition law in Hungary. Bálint studied law in Budapest, Strasbourg and Regensburg, and obtained his LL.M. degree at the College of Europe in Bruges. He is a regular speaker at conferences and publishes competition law articles in English, German and French. He is also a member of the supervisory board of Andrássy University.

The arrival of Bálint is a true milestone in the life of our 10 year-old firm. Traditionally the main focus of the firm is on tax law and M&A. During the course of M&A transactions we experience more and more the need for competition law advice from our clients. It appeared a logical move for us to expand our legal services into that direction. Bálint is one of the most reputable experts in competition law in Hungary. While working together with him on previous legal assignments we became certain that his personality will make a great match with our team.” – commented Pál Jalsovszky, managing partner of the firm.
